Reqor Data company’s Data Recovery Service

With more than 15 years of experience in the industry, Reqor Data Recovery can help you to recover your lost data. The data recovery process can involve complicated techniques. Some physically damaged hardware can be repaired by replacing parts in the hard disk, but there might still be logical damage.

A specialized disk imaging procedure is used to recover every readable byte of data from the surface. Once this image is acquired, the image can then be analyzed for logical damage. Consistency checking and zero knowledge analysis can be performed by logical damages when necessary, this will possibly allow for much of the original file system to be reconstructed, hence increase the chance for successful data recovery.

Data recovery is the process of retrieving data from damaged, corrupted or inaccessible data storage devices when the data appears lost. Data Loss occurs mainly due to two type of events, physical damage to the storage device or logical damage to the file system.

A wide variety of failures can cause physical damage to storage media:

  • Hardware failure, such as a head crash in a hard disk.
  • Broken tape or laptop, mobile phones accidentally dropped & damaged
  • Natural disaster, earthquake, flood, tornado, fire, etc.

Logical damage occurs even more often. Resulting in file system inconsistency often due to:

  • programming failure: system freeze resulting in data only partially saved
  • Virus attacks, data corruption, such as file system corruption or database corruption.
  • Power failure, resulting in data in volatile memory not being saved to permanent memory.
  • A software crash or freeze, resulting in data not being saved.
  • Apart from above listed causes, human error such as accidental deletion of a file or program, misplacement of CD’s, etc can also cause unintended data loss.

In many cases, data recovery is still possible. A recovery of the data is still possible as long as the magnetic data layer of the plate is not too badly damaged. Physical damage is common for drives who keep running, for example, after a head crash. The heads on the plate "drags", which can scrape the surface of the platter. This makes data recovery very difficult, because the pollution and the grooves makes the probability of a successful data recovery smaller.

Do not open hard drives if you do not know what you can do with it once its open. You need a conditioned space (clean room) to do so, otherwise you contaminate the drive with microscopic dirt particles. Physical damage is often a combination of hardware components that have broken down and software changes in, for example, the firmware of the hard disk drive (PCB). So often it is not only the transplantation of donor items. If you have no experience or equipment for these operations, send the drive for a diagnosis and do nothing on your own. This will improve the chance of a succesful data recovery as much as possible.
